Dr. Toshiaki Ito, Chief of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery of the Japanese Red Cross Nagoya First Hospital successfully completed a first series of endoscopic mitral valve surgeries. Combining 3D imaging with the stable, but free camera control provided by the SOLOASSIST robotic arm, he experienced a more natural view, comparable with open surgery and less instrument conflicts.
